Using the Royal Caribbean app to find and chat with other guests on your sailing? There's a privacy setting worth knowing about — especially if you're in Europe.
On the app's Invite to chat screen there's a toggle: "Let other guests find me by name." If you're an EU, EEA or UK resident — or a minor — Royal Caribbean's app turns this off automatically for privacy (GDPR). That means other guests can't find you by name until you switch it on yourself. Guests elsewhere, such as in the US, have it on by default.
So if friends say they can't find you:
- Open the Royal Caribbean app and go to Invite to chat.
- Turn on "Let other guests find me by name."
Once it's on, people searching your name can invite you to chat and plan things together — and you can switch it back off any time.
